Shibari Suspension Retreat
October 16–20, 2026 · Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Only 6 spots.
Early Bird ends July 30.
Skyrocket your Shibari skill (focus on shibari sessions and suspension), recharge your batteries and dive deep into yourself.
This retreat is for people who want more than a class.
It is for people who want to give themselves several days to fully enter the practice.
To learn. To feel.
To be challenged. To be supported.
To connect. To suspend.
To remember what it feels like to be fully present.

More than learning knots
This is a 5-day, 4-night immersive Shibari experience for people who want to go deeper — couples and solo riggers who want to build real suspension skills, explore connection through rope, and experience what happens when technique, trust, movement, breath, and presence all come together.
This is our 4th suspension retreat.
And yes — after this intense experience, everyone suspends.
Not because we rush. Not because we force it. But because we create the right environment, with enough support, enough practice, and enough personal guidance for you to actually get there.
My students’ experience
“What pleasantly surprised me is how much patience, guidance, and one-to-one instruction was provided to help me accomplish suspensions I wouldn’t have dreamed of achieving before arriving at the workshop. My intention was not just to come and learn the technicalities, but to create suspensions that were personal and moving — and that intention was absolutely met. The emotion in seeing a suspension arrive at its full expression was an aspect of the workshop I will always remember.”
ALEX, Portugal
“The energy, guidance, and technical mastery you shared made this retreat unforgettable. You gave me the skills and the confidence to let my shadow self come out to play. I appreciate each of you for creating something truly special.”
GREY, USA
“Anastasia and the crew put on such a tremendous week for everyone. The days are action packed and the pacing and flow of the course felt natural. The teachers are all genuine human beings and their love for shibari exudes from all of them. They made a safe environment for people of all walks of life and levels to open up and bond. You meet cool people, eat great food and share stories and laughs in a magical setting, while learning something that is really meditative once you get the hang of it.”
BRETT · CANADA
“The attention to detail and care from the facilitators was heartwarming. I always felt empowered to ask questions or request help. Beyond the ropes, the other offerings like the cacao ceremony, yoga, and temazcal enhanced the experience so much and facilitated a container of connection, peace, and safety.”
STORM · CANADA
You will not just learn how to tie.
You will learn how to hold someone. How to read the body. How to create transitions. How to stay present when the rope gets intense. How to connect with yourself, your partner, and the person in front of you.
This is Shibari as a practice of attention, trust, care, and transformation.

This retreat is for you if...
- You already have some Shibari experience and want to move toward suspension in a structured, safe, and supported way.
- You want to understand not only the technical side of rope, but also the emotional and sensual side of it.
- You want to learn how to create floor work, partial suspension, full suspension, and transitions with more confidence.
- You want several days fully dedicated to rope, connection, body awareness, and practice.
- You want to be in a small group where you actually receive attention, correction, and personal feedback.
- You are coming with a partner — or you are coming solo and want a professional model arranged for you so you can fully participate.
A note on level
This retreat is intermediate level.
If you are a beginner, it is still possible to join, but it will be challenging. You will need to complete the full online course and take at least 3 hours of personal class before the retreat, so you arrive prepared. As soon as you submit your deposit, you receive access to the online program — so you can start training the most important foundations right away.

Small group. A lot of support. A lot of practice. Maximum 6 guests — only 3 couples, or a mix of couples and solo participants. A teacher works with each couple during practice.
Save your week
We will warmly welcome you in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, from October 16–20, 2026!
If the date is not good for you, maybe there will be more retreats, so…
What we will practice
During the retreat, we go from confident floor work all the way into suspension transitions. The classes are progressive, so every day builds on the previous one.
- Floor work for connection, control, and communication
- Body handling and rope tension
- Harnesses and structures used for suspension
- Partial suspension
- Full suspension
- Transitions
- How to support your model emotionally and physically
- How to create scenes that are not only technical, but personal and meaningful
- How to adapt when the body, energy, or emotions change
- How to make your Shibari safer, cleaner, and more intentional

By the end, the goal is not only that you “did a suspension.”
The goal is that you understand what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to continue practicing with more confidence after you go home.
Our retreats since 2023
Nine editions and counting:

Every retreat is a small, hand-built container. This October is our 4th suspension retreat — and the format has been refined with every edition.
This is not only a Shibari workshop
This retreat is built as a full experience. Rope is the center, but everything around it supports your body, your nervous system, your connection, and your ability to be present.
We begin with a tea ceremony to arrive into the space slowly and intentionally. Every morning includes body movement practice — yoga or a similar movement class — to wake up, open the body, and prepare for rope.
We will also share:
- Breathwork practice
- Cacao circle & sound healing
- Temazcal ceremony (optional)
- Ice bath experience (optional)
- Swimming with turtles
- A relaxed Shibari evening
- Shibari jams and games
- A final rope jam

Because Shibari is not just about the knots. It is about the state you enter together.
The villa
The retreat takes place in a private villa close to the beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Most classes, meals, ceremonies, and practices happen at the villa, so once you arrive, you do not need to run around from place to place. Transportation is organized for the outside activities. You don’t need to think about anything — all is done for you.

During your free time, you can walk to the beach, watch the sunrise, take a dip in the ocean, rest, journal, float in the pool — or simply let your body integrate everything you are learning.

- Each couple gets their own bedroom.
- Meals are all-inclusive, prepared by our cook at the villa.
- We share food together, rest together, train together — a small, intimate container for the whole experience.
Maximum group size: 6 guests. Only 3 couples, or a mix of couples and solo participants.

A matter of allocation
Think about how much you spend in a year — and how much of it you allocate to your own self. To your wellness, your development, the things that will still be with you years from now.
You may know Pareto’s law: 80% of outcomes come from just 20% of the input. Your life works the same way — a small share of your time creates most of your growth, your happiness, and your memories. Five days fully dedicated to rope, connection, and presence can be part of that 20%. When you look back, will you be grateful you allowed yourself to grow — or will you regret not taking this opportunity?
